Responsibilities Summary:
To be a member of a strong technical team, that provides production, development and test support of 70+ Sun servers and 10+ Red Hat servers. Support customer needs for existing and new system configurations. Provide on-call and scheduled outage support. Be available to travel for remote site installation support and remote disaster recovery support as necessary. The person in this position must have a strong working knowledge of Solaris, Red Hat, and Veritas, in addition to being able to provide hardware and operating system level patches and upgrades. Perform Unix performance tuning and capacity planning in a large-scale server environment. Develop and implement high-availability Unix architecture solutions to support enterprise application initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications Summary:
Five+ years of strong Unix Administration experience using Sun Solaris 2.5 through 10 and Sun Enterprise server platforms. Exposure to shell programming, perl, awk, HTML also required. Two+ years of hands on experience implementing and administering LINUX Red Hat 3 and 4. Knowledge of network topologies and architectures related to Unix system configurations required. Must interface well with customers. Must work well in a team. Must have the ability to evaluate customer requirements and architect systems for new and changing environments. Must have effective interpersonal skills with a customer service background.
Educational Requirements:
BS degree or equivalent required. Four years of Unix Administration experience on Sun systems required. Two years of LINUX Administration experience supporting Red Hat also required. Support experience of FCOM fiber channel disk arrays, NIS, NFS, DNS, SMTP, Sendmail, HTTP, LPD also required. Must have experience with Sun Solaris and Red Hat. Experience with E1200’s a plus.
