UNIGRAPHICS DESIGNER

Purpose: Industry leader specializing in gas turbine engines is looking for a UNIGRAPHICS DESIGNER.

Candidate will be responsible for the following; Reviews/understands customer specifications and requirements for mechanical components and assemblies; Interacts with engineering personnel to define initial design concepts, materials, and approaches; Receives and works with customer furnished CAD data and related information; Uses CAD system to develop initial 3D solid model of mechanical components and assemblies; Provides CAD models in appropriate form for use by Analysis personnel at various stages of the design development; Identifies/selects standard components from vendor catalogs for use in the design; Prepares 3D color renderings of hardware for use in presentations, proposals; Interacts with Fabrication personnel regarding manufacturability of design; Uses CAD system to determine part/assembly weight and center of gravity; Interacts with Programming personnel to ensure content of solid model for programming activities; Generates and maintains CAD data and files in accordance with departmental procedures; Performs initial material selection and sizing of components.

Associates Degree in Design/Drafting or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of experience, CAD content in this training/experience is required, with particular emphasis on 3D part modeling;
