UDB DBA

This person will design, develop, implement, maintain, and enhance UDB databases that support business applications; conduct user problem research/resolution and SQL tuning; and monitor performance of the databases. This person will be responsible for supporting production and testing database servers; providing hands on technical responses to business area inquiries; and database engineering support such as researching and implementing new/improved database features. This person will be installing UDB upgrades and patches. This role is involved with UDB performance tuning at both the database instance and SQL levels; 24 x 7 on-call support of production database servers. Some weekends and evening work will be required.
Job Requirements
Ideal candidate should have 5-8 years DB2/UDB experience. At least 5-8 years professional experience with DB2 is desired. Must possess a working understanding of UDB DB2 on AIX and Sun Solaris and a working knowledge of SQL Server or Oracle is required.

Ideal candidate should be self-driven and must possess excellent communication skills; must also exhibit leadership qualities, a high level of initiative and dedication along with a demonstrated ability to be a team player.

The following skills are considered a plus:

Project management and documentation skills; expertise in database design Power Designer a plus and experience with Linux is a plus.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
