Technical Writer II - (JOG KW18985)

Preferred Skills: Experience in the development of technical data in support of fixed and rotary wing military aircraft. Knowledge of aircraft systems and operation is essential. Must have a strong working knowledge of military specifications to include those pertinent to development of flight and maintenance manuals, abbreviated checklists, inspection manuals, work cards, Illustrated Parts Breakdown/Repair Parts and Special Tools List manuals, Time Compliance Technical Orders and Modification Work Orders. Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Arbortext Epic Editor (or similar SGML/XML tagging) is preferred. A working knowledge of Adobe PageMaker and Frame Maker a plus. Must be able to interface directly with customers and Program Management to ensure project requirements are understood and tasks are properly executed.

Edits, writes, and/or rewrites technical articles, publications, presentations, and other materials to communicate clearly and effectively research findings, technical developments, and other news and information to a wide range of external audiences. Interprets and administers documentation/ communication policies and procedures. Advises writers and researchers in matters of style, syntax, and usage to improve the general quality and effectiveness of communications. Exercises quality control over documents intended for external distribution. May participate in copy clearance process.

Typical Minimum Experience and Education:
2 Years, with related Bachelors degree.

Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance.
