Tech Specialist Design

Design DrafterESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This position involves a diverse involvement in various aspects of the natural gas pipeline engineering and construction industry.
Primary role will be to review project design plans for encroachments around existing pipeline facilities. Encroachment projects include road projects, community and residential developments.
Identify where utility/road conflicts exist and evaluate alternatives and design changes to mitigate.
Respond to and interact with state agencies, local governments, property owners and developers.
Secondary role will be to prepare short turnaround drawings, diagrams, schematics and maps for engineers, specialist and right of way personnel in all phases of pipeline facility permitting and construction.

REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

The ability to read detailed drawings and schematics for a broad range of infrastructure projects.
The ability to plot plans and profile drawings from survey notes and lat/long coordinates from AUTO CAD.
Must have a working knowledge of AUTO CAD.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Programs.
Must have the aptitude to learn other programs necessary to fullfill the job requirements.
Must have 3 years experience in related field.PREFERRED SKILLS: College education or equivalent technical education/training preferred. SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS:

Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously in an environment of changing priorities, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
Deals frequently with a wide range of contacts including technical, operations, risk management, contractors, vendors, attorneys, and various levels of management.
Must be able to work extended hours and/or days during peak work periods and to meet strict deadlines.
Some travel to field locations and construction sites, which may require overnight stay.
