This position will provide production engineering UNIX support to the CTO LOB through the Technology Infrastructure Distributed Production Support organization. The proposed position will be responsible for troubleshooting, repair, escalation and problem resolution of the UNIX systems.



The key responsibilities of this role are monitoring and managing all levels of support for the UNIX systems. The candidate will proactively identify problems, issues or performance and capacity bottlenecks and drive problems to resolution. Implements operational upgrades, system changes, software loads and tool set integrations. Lead other team members and works closely with personnel from other application areas within CTO to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently. Identifies and implements technology and system management methods to attain constant improvement in availability and site performance. The candidate must have a strong scripting background as well as outstanding communication abilities.



REQUIREMENTS
5-7 years of experience in SUN Solaris Operating System/hardware troubleshooting in a large production (200+ UNIX servers), data-center environment.SUN Solaris Operating System (Version 9 and/or 10) Veritas Volume Manager (Version 3.5 and/or 4.1) Veritas Cluster Services (Version 3.5 and/or 4.1) Experience with AIX version 5.x preferred Experience with Redhat Linux is a plus Ability to perform on-call duties as scheduled Knowledge of SAN technology Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical audiences that include peers, partners, management, and customers. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask. Must be able to remain focused on critical deliverables while remaining aware of simultaneous communications and issues. Professional customer-focused attitude at all times, even during situations of disagreement. Understanding of and experience with change management concepts, processes, and tools. Experience working in a "hands-off" environment driven with controls/process in place.
