Systems Engineer (Defense / DoD project)

Seeking a Systems Engineer with a BS in Physics or Engineering (ME, EE, or AE) from an accredited institution. MS desirable.
Proven system design skills and experience in developing and documenting projectile, missile or other weapon system conceptual design layouts, including ability to define/manage subsystem space allocations and form factors for electronic devices, and to conduct technical assessments of design concept alternatives. Proven ability to develop concepts into working designs that meet system requirements, to include detailed definition of robust packaging, electrical interfaces, and network harness integration, routing and installation approaches.

Preferred candidates will have the following skills and related work experience:
Experience working on munitions or guided missile systems development for the Department of Defense.
Ability to generate alternative conceptual design layouts for complex guided projectile internal packaging arrangements, to include airframe structure, aerodynamic control surfaces, actuation systems, fuzing systems and system electronics.
Experience in developing network interconnects for power and data transmission between guidance, navigation and control subsystems and components. Knowledge or experience in Inertial Navigation Systems (INS), Inertial Measurement Units (IMU), Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and simulation modeling. Experience with section integration and testing including HIL and PIL characterization. Working experience with C/C++ or other object-oriented software development, MATLAB or other data analysis tools, and modeling/simulation development. Ability to generate interface control documentation and associated requirements to support management of subcontractor development activities. Ability to conduct trade study analysis and recommend best value design approaches, common across multiple platforms. Ability to effectively use standard MS Office tools, including developing Excel spreads
