Sr Systems Engineer - Cryptographic Device Design - Gov't

This Senior System Security Engineer will work in the Government Systems Information Assurance department to perform systems engineering tasks in the areas of Information Assurance (IA) and Information Security (IS). The candidate must be highly motivated and a self-starter. The successful candidate will participate in an interdisciplinary team of engineers by focusing on customer needs and requirements to design, develop, document, test and certify modern waveforms. Candidate must have experience in systems engineering, including the ability to perform system level requirements analysis, design, integration and test. Experience or familiarity with National Security Agency (NSA) Type 1 certification processes is desired. This experience ensures that the proper design and analysis is performed to allow NSA evaluation that ultimately results in certification of the waveform when hosted on the target platform. Candidate may be involved with briefing and interfacing directly with other Rockwell Collins business areas, external customers as well as the NSA on a variety of design and security related issues. Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills and the desire to participate and lead on a results-oriented team with other highly skilled professional engineers.



The ideal candidate must have the following demonstrated skills:

1) Experience in systems engineering, including the ability to perform system level requirements analysis, design, integration and test.

2) Knowledge of NSA Type 1 certification process.

3) Knowledge of NSA Type 1 certification artifacts.

4) Experience in using Clearcase for configuration control, Clearquest for defect tracking, DOORs for requirements capture, and proficient in the use of MS Office Products.

5) Knowledge of system and/or system security requirements, functional decomposition, subsystem interface definition, technology application and analysis.

6) Strong writing skills necessary to produce documentation required for design, development and security certification evaluation.

7) Good understanding of Technical Consistent Process and/or SEI-CMMI level 3 processes.

Candidate must hold a current U.S. DoD SECRET (at a minimum) Security Clearance or have held a U.S. DoD SECRET (at a minimum) Security Clearance within the last 2 years. U.S. Citizenship is required.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in applicable engineering or science field or six years related exempt experience plus six years related exempt experience.
