Sr. Mechanical Designer

SUMMARY
This position supports the implementation of capital projects within the mill for sustaining basic infrastructure, process improvements, or environmental or safety improvements. The position requires the ability to design and develop drawings for small mechanical/piping/civil/structural projects, which will be used for construction.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform necessary field work to obtain information required to be used for detailed design.
Perform detailed design drawings with the objective of meeting technical, cost, and safety goals of the project.
Communicate and work with engineering disciplines, Operations, and Maintenance departments.
Handle and perform multiple projects co-currently.

The Qualified candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of design and drafting experience using AutoCAD.
The position requires the ability to take small projects from the conceptual stage through detailed design drawings to be used for construction, in conjunction with appropriate Engineering assistance.
The individual must be self-motivated, and communicate and work well with others to attain project goals.
2 yr Associate degree desired preferred, but not required
Minimal travel required
