Sr. Hardware Engineer

Full-time position for electrical/computer engineer in state-of-the-art instrumentation design engineering. Opportunities for professional growth in a fast-growing, innovative environment.

Design of electronic circuits and implementation of embedded software algorithms for instrumentation hardware design projects. Hardware designs include precision analog circuitry, high-speed ECL and CMOS digital circuitry, embedded digital signal processors, peripheral device and bus interfaces, and custom CPLD/FPGA designs for data processing and interface circuitry. Some RF/microwave design work may be included as well. Software work includes C-language programming of DSPs, and VHDL-designs of CPLD/FPGA devices. Embedded algorithms include digital communication, digital filtering, feedback and feedforward control, statistical analysis, and peripheral interface and control. Finally, integration and testing in the lab will be necessary to qualify and troubleshoot the hardware and embedded software designs.
REQUIREMENTS
10+ years experience in electronic design of instrumentation and embedded processor circuitry and firmware. Strong electronic design experience must include digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuits. RF/microwave design experience would be advantageous. Good technical background in embedded processor software development is necessary, including experience with C and embedded DSP programming. Experience writing hardware interface software for the Windows environment is desirable. Design experience with Texas Instruments DSPs would be advantageous. Experience with CAE software is desired, including TI Code Composer, Matlab, Spice, Viewlogic, and LabVIEW. Familiarity with control and signal processing theory is preferable. Good interpersonal skills are required for interaction with engineering team members.
