Sr. Data Base Admin./Architect

First American MLS Solutions has an immediate opening for a Senior Database Administrator/Architect reporting to our Knoxville, TN location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Responsible for database design, architecture, coding, maintenance, and mentoring support for several high-concurrency, high-performance product lines for a Fortune 500 company.Responsibilities include but are not limited to: task estimation; risk assessment; design and modeling of databases and systems; proof of concept testing; coding and maintenance of stored procedures and functions in Transact-SQL; coding and maintenance of jobs and scripts; setup, maintenance, and support of jobs in SQL Agent; perform peer reviews; unit testing; data migration, remapping, import/export, and transformation; metadata maintenance; vendor/product evaluations; train/present/mentor in a variety of environments; other tasks as assigned.Successful candidate must be able to design, implement, and troubleshoot complex systems; diagnose and resolve complex database design and performance issues; design, recommend and/or develop corrective SQL scripts and database fixes (both short-term and long-term fixes); support development, testing, and production code bases; analyze and implement database change requests and enhancements; actively participate in meetings with both technical and non-technical audiences as an advocate for the DBA and development departments.Will participate in second-tier 24/7 rotating support coverage.Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, technical judgment, problem solving and verbal and written communication skills.Guru knowledge of and experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2000, including T-SQL, stored procedures, DTS packages utilizing VBScript or JScript, SQL Profiler, SQL Agent scheduling, query plans and other analytical tools.MS SQL Server 2005 experience a plus.Excellent knowledge of program logic and data flow.Familiarity with ASP , ASP.NET, C#, and web-side JavaScript a plus.Deep understanding and experience with logical metadata and association with physical data schemas.Ability to immediately adapt to changing requirements and conditions.Ability to work in a nationally distributed team environment.Ability to interact positively and effectively with employees at all levels within the organization.Ability to work in fast paced environment essential.Education or Equivalent Experience:BS degree in Computer Science and 1-3 years experience in SQL Server operations and support, or 3-5 years in SQL Server operations and support.MCDBA or MCITP a plus.The First American Corporation is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
