Sr. DBA/Architect

We are currently seeking a Sr.DBA/Architect to serve as the data technical strategy expert be responsible for re-engineering and maintaining the enterprise-wide view of all OMFN data. This position will analyze information requirements specified by the business and design the required data structures, principles and standards to support those requirements. The Data Architect's duties and responsibilities will include:
• Review all current operational data structures and recommend optimizations and reconfigurations.
• Recommend and evaluate new database tools and methodologies.
• Develop standards and models for all database objects; tables, stored procedures, views and indexes for the organization, and ensures that these standards and models are effectively and efficiently utilized.
• Develop meta-data and meta-data standards
• Work with third party vendors to develop data objects that transfer data between heterogeneous data environments.
• Design and build logical data models, process models and system models.
• Be responsible for the development of the standards for scheduled database maintenance; backup plans for databases; and Security of the database objects.
• Mentor and train others in database tools and techniques.
REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science with a minimum of eight or more years experience in database development and administration, preferably in a web environment, is required. The skills required for success in this position are eight or more years experience of SQL Server, preferably SQL Server 7.0 and SQL 2000; working knowledge of Oracle; experience in Middleware Technologies EAI and ETL tools; experience in OLAP tools; and experience in XML standards and data transfer standards. This person must also possess solid & quantifiable experience in Metadata standards, data modeling ERD-Dimensional, and the use of modeling tools (e.g. ERWIN, Oracle. Other skills and abilities necessary for success include; Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent problem-solving skills; the ability to work independently and within a diverse team of business and technical resources; willingness and capability to mentor and train others; as well as the ability to multi-task, i.e. plan and organize numerous tasks and assignments in a timely manner.
