Sr. Cable & Harnessing Design Engineer

BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or a similar discipline with 5+ years of experience, MA/MS degree with 3+ years of work experience, or a Ph.D. with 1+ years work experience; or equivalent related technical work experience. Previous experience in the design and fabrication of spacecraft satellite, high reliability military, or instrument cabling systems. Demonstrated knowledge of fabrication processes and workmanship criteria for spacecraft, satellite, high reliability miliary, or instrument cabling systems. Solid computer skills in the use of databases, CAD drawings, and Excel spreadsheets. Previous experience in task planning, cost control, and scheduling. Previous experience in working with outside companies and vendors. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

Desired:
Demonstrated experience in spacecraft electrical/mechanical design processes and procedures. Direct experience with CAD harness layout using Unigraphics or other CAD tools. Experience with the tools and techniques for the layout of cabling in complex routing environments.
REQUIREMENTS
Provide cabling engineering design and analysis expertise to the cabling design, documentation, and fabrication efforts for multiple projects. Have responsibility for assuring the integrity of the cabling from inception through delivery. Provide cabling which meets the technical performance, cost and schedule. Work independently to oversee the procurement process, schedule, and costs for the fabrication and test of cabling produced by outside vendors. Interface with the Mission and Systems Architecture Division 31, Avionic Systems and technology Division 34, and multiple Project offices. Will report to group Supervisor.
