This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Architecture and Strategy

This position will be located in either Overland Park, KS or Akron, OH





Summary
Plans, designs, develops and directs the development of computer programs that automate specific business processes by performing the following duties.





Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:As part of the integrated development life cycle, this position will be required to work with the business to define/refine the business requirements and to determine the initial project cost and impact. Demonstrates the ability to learn multiple technologies and systems and may manage projects across multiple technologies and systems. Trains other employees in analysis, design and programming. Performs demos or presentations of system functionality for customers. Effectively delegates and follows up on support work as required by assigning, coordinating, and reviewing work of programming personnel. Provides rotational 24 x 7 on-call support. Facilitates meetings with groups of cross-functional customers to ensure all requirements are captured and issues are resolved timely. Facilitates meetings with other departments and/or team members to ensure all requirements are understood and issues resolved. Successfully manages large, cross-enterprise projects by following the Project Management methodology. Designs and implements innovative technical solutions to solve complex business opportunities. Understands and applies company standards, methodologies, processes, and procedures. Participates in the development of standards, tools, methodologies, processes and procedures. May perform other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS

Required:



1 - 2 years experience working with the business to develop requirements and craft architecture blueprints

3 - 5 years experience designing application architectures and turning those into detailed design specs

5 - 7 years experience developing IT solutions



Preferred:



Transportation business knowledge or application capabilities

Experience designing, developing, deploying freight management, resource management, logistical solutions.





Education and/or Experience:
Four year college degree or equivalent; or seven to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
