Software Programmer w/Database
Technisource is a national provider of technology services, focused on achieving the unique goals of our clients and consultants. We’re recruiting qualified VB 6.0 software programmers with strong relational database knowledge and experience. MCSE Certified preferred but not required. This is a contract in Southwest Michigan, supporting a pharmaceutical company.
VB 6.0 software programmer with strong database programming is needed on contract. Responsibilities will include providing analysis and programming support for data migration from legacy systems to a staging database to DataStream (D7i). The conversion process will consist of data mapping and writing conversion programs from legacy systems located on mainframe VSAM files and SQL server tables to a SQL server staging database and/or to comma delimited files to be loaded into D7i Oracle tables. This will require the writing of detail programming specifications, assisting business in the creation of conversion tables (old value to new value), writing and testing of the conversion/migration programs, participating in code reviews, and tracking of the loading process.
Required Skills:
Technical: Visual Basic 6.0, Visual Source Safe, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access)
Non-Technical: Excellent analysis skills; Good communication skills
Desired Skills:
Technical: MCSE Certified, Microsoft Access programming experience, Oracle experience, Microsoft SQL Server programming
Non-Technical: Previous experience in a GxP and 21 CFR Part 11 work environment. Ability to interact directly with customers.
