These positions are add-to-staff positions to play a key role in the development of this successful corporation’s next generation of video equipment. One engineer will have overall proejct mgmt role for s/w design/development through the entire life cycle and the other engineer will have critical sub project assignments.

These engineers will be key members /leads in the development & design of a 100% digital equipment that will replace current products. Their current products enjoy popularity and a reputation for excellence so development of all new digital equipment will require not just getting a design but a robust design with the same quality. Hence, work will generally start with understanding the market need by working closely with marketing to identify product requirements and converting these into engineering requirements. The first specific product within their product lines has been identified but beyond that, you will be in on the ground floor relative to s/w requirements, s/w design, testing both in the lab and later field beta units. Will work closely with hardware engineers to identify design parameters and to define h/w and s/w strategies. Will be hands-on involved through the test and integration phases hence knowledge of h/w design and testing is required. Actual software design will be done in combinations (depending on the product or software need)of Visual Basic and C++. Requires solid understanding of PC architecture, bus structure and communication protocols including Ethernet and wireless networking. As a project lead will provide guidance to other engineering personnel (small staff but very talented group including the manager who is still a hands-on engineer) relative to creating fully digital video products. On the front end develop project time lines, manpower loading and budgets and manage project against same. Their products are used by a very specific commercial/government (not military) market place and thus they experience little in the way of down turn in business. SALARY: $60,000 to $85,000

REQUIREMENTS: BSEE, BS Comp Eng or BSEET with 3 or more years software development and design using VB and/or C++ including software targeted for PC's. Must have solid understanding of digital h/w design along with ability to trouble shoot h/w and s/w during integration testing. Experience and understanding of: PC architecture, bus structure and communication protocols including Ethernet and wireless networking. Pluses include: embedded XP s/w experience, MPEG compression and coders but not required.
Note: Open to working with a H-1 visa holder on sponsorship and attainment of permanent resident status.
