Job Title : Software Development Engineer

Summary :
The position is for a software development engineer for the Maintenance Technologies FREEDOM E-LOG product and related products and services. The position requires technical knowledge of web-based software concepts, practices and procedures.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Personal Characteristics :
Design, modify, develop, write, implement and document software programming applications as a development team member. Perform software testing and certification. Support and/or install software applications/operating systems. Develop and support enterprise server level product installation sites. Develop data interfaces to a variety of machining/asset control systems using standard protocols and custom implementations. Provide timely and complete communication to managers by providing technical expertise in software concepts, coding practices and implementation procedures.

Education/Experience :
• Bachelor’s degree in a related area.
• 4-6 years of experience in the field or related field to software development.
• Specific expertise sought includes Linux operating systems, Postgres and other programming languages including c/c++, java, visual basic, vbsscript and implementing secure Ethernet networks.
A measure of creativity and an ability for innovation is expected.

Working Relationship:
• Works across functional departments with both peers and co-workers.
• Significant contact with shop floor personnel.
• Significant contact with customers and suppliers.
