DoITT provides an array of services to other City agencies as well as directly to the citizens of New York through the 3-1-1 Citizen Services Center, NYC TV, NYC.gov, and its GIS, Data Center and Telecom Divisions.

New York City's 3-1-1 Citizen Service Center has revolutionized how New Yorkers contact government. Handling over 15 million calls annually, 3-1-1 has raised the bar for customer contact centers in the public sector and in private industry.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsibilities will include:
Maintaining Siebel Analytics 7 Sun Solaris environment architectures;
Supporting production and application build environments;
Troubleshooting daily issues and conducting weekly maintenance in the production environment;
Tuning of the production architecture to improve performance;
Investigating and resolving architecture issues, with Siebel vendor as necessary;
Escalating issues to management as appropriate.

* Due to the nature of a 24x7 Call Center Operation, candidates must be available to work various shifts, such as weekends and/or evenings. *

PREFERRED SKILLS:
The preferred candidate will have significant experience with the following:
Siebel Analytics 7 configuration;
Siebel Analytics 7 'load-balanced' architecture;
Sun Solaris Operating System; Oracle; Informatica PowerCenter 7;
Integration of data from legacy sources;

Additionally, candidate will demonstrate:
Organization, creativity, flexibility, and strong analytical skills;
Teamwork, communication, and organization skills;
Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines;
Able to effectively interface with technologists, business owners, and end-users.

* Availability to work various shifts, such as weekends and/or evenings; Ability to work overtime as required (may need to be on call to support a 24x7x365 technical operation). *

CIVIL SERVICE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
A Master's Degree in computer science from an accredited college and three years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience using mainframe, mini- or micro-computer technology in computer applications programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data telecommunications, data base administration, or planning of data processing, at least 18 months of this experience must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity in the areas of computer applications programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data telecommunications, data base administration, or planning of data processing or in the supervision of staff performing these duties,

A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college and four years of experience as described above
-OR-
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of experience as described above,
-OR-
Education and experience equivalent to the above. However, all candidates must have at least a high school diploma or its equivalent and must possess at least three years experience as described above, including the 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience as described above.

NOTE: The following types of experience are NOT acceptable; superficial use of preprogrammed software without complex programming, design, implementation or management of the product; use of word processing packages; use of a hand held calculator; primarily the entering or updating of data in a system; the operation of data processing hardware or consoles.
