Senior UNIX/Network Administrator

Extraordinarily intelligent and resourceful individual sought to provide UNIX and networking support for the D. E. Shaw group, a highly successful investment and technology development firm.
The person we hire will work with the D.E. Shaw group's highly-skilled 35-person IT systems staff and will be responsible for: Solaris and Linux related research projectsHelping architect new technology for our fast-paced, high-growth environment
Management and administration of over 1000 Linux and UNIX machines
Management and administration of our state of the art global production networkThe ideal candidate will have:
A computer science or engineering degree
Extensive knowledge of multiple UNIX operating systems
Solid understanding of the IGP and EGP routing protocols
Strong programming and scripting ability
