Senior Technologist- IT Security and Architecture

The Senior Technologist IT Security and Architecture is responsible for working with the Architecture and Security Group on the design and the implementation of infrastructure architectures, security technologies, and compliance strategy.

Essential Job Functions

-Develop hardware and software standards.

-Visualize the big picture and identify integration points.

-Design and implement security technologies including patch management, antivirus, and security monitoring.

-Standardize the desktop platform and enhance the end user experience.

-Document architectures, standards, processes and policies.

-Find opportunities and implement automation to increase standardization.

-Work closely with the infrastructure team on initiatives and assist in troubleshooting activities when necessary.

-Evaluate and provide direction for emerging technologies.

-Other special projects as required by management.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications required

Education and Professional Requirements:

-Bachelor’s degree in computer science or MIS

-5-7 years experience with Microsoft/CISCO technical role mastering the following:

-Domain, naming, and administrative strategies.

-Platform security strategies

-Network, remote and internet access strategies

-Excellent documentation skills for technical and corporate audiences.

-Desktop management technology experience utilizing recognized 3rd party offerings such as SMS or Altiris.

-Proficiency in scripting using jscript or vbscript.

-Previous experience programming or scripting against the Active Directory and down-level domains using ADSI and ADO.

-SQL database experience including design, query development, and accessing via script or program.

-Experience troubleshooting in the areas of network and operating system internals.

-Advanced networking experience (TCP/IP, DNS, DNCP).

-Work effectively in a dynamic environment where shifting priorities frequently alter work plans.

-Excellent oral and written communication skills in both a technical & non-technical environment.

-Experience with the creation and enforcement of policies, processes, and procedures.

-Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

-Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail.

-Natural team player with the capacity to integrate into a global IT team.

-Enjoy the challenge of working in a small to medium office environment.

-Support and the possibility of occasional travel domestically and internationally.

Licenses, Certifications, Credentials, and Other Requirements:

-Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests.

-Must complete safety orientation prior to visiting rig location, and annual thereafter (if applicable).

-A professional designation or certification in a related field is an asset.

-Bilingual a plus
