Reports to: Principal Naval ArchitectJob Summary:
A Senior Naval Architect Engineer provides technical oversight and leadership in Naval Architecture conducting requirements analysis, developing and executing advanced concepts based on guidance from Principal Naval Architect using product and technology roadmaps.Responsibilities to Include:
Prepares IR&D project approval documentation to initiate new research and development initiative.
While working in a project team environment monitors the progress of numerical analysis done to support new concepts developed within the concept development group.
Individually performs requirements analysis in order to develop new concepts and applications for high speed marine vessels and sub systems systems.
Leads efforts to prepare proposals for research and development projects and supports proposal technical writing and editing in support of Business Development activities.
Reviews and recommends corrections to calculations including preliminary weight, performance, powering and range estimates.
Develops new hull forms/lines, general arrangements and hull structural definition for concept designs.
Prepares technical reports and/or reviews technical data or reports provided by others as directed.
Develops and delivers presentations to technical audiences and Sr Business Unit Management.
Performs and checks Naval Architectural calculations relating to floodable length, hydrostatics, stability or tonnage to assure conformity with applicable Classification Society, Regulatory Body or Specification requirements.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering with 3-5 years of related experience.Position Requirements:
Requires proficiency in the use of software for marine design and analysis, including a functional knowledge of computerized design tools such as AutoCad or equal.
Working knowledge in the use of the Microsoft Office 2003 suite of tools.
Assists in developing appropriate tests in support of a structured product validation and verification environment.
Working knowledge of key design parameters that effect high performance marine vessels and the rules governing approval by USCG, ABS and other approval authorities.
Excellent communication skills in both an oral presentation, technical writing, and engineering drawing format.
Must be capable of obtaining a SECRET security clearance.License and Certification Requirements:
