Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Purpose: Our client is looking for an experienced mechanical design engineer with considerable expertise in CNC milling machine design, or some other robotics or automation industry with similar requirements. The function of the design engineer would be to complement the hardware and software teams in the updating, maintenance and support of existing CNC milling machine designs, and to assist in the design of new CNC mill concepts, designs and prototypes. Considerable experience in automation, coordinated motion control, calibration and design of a product from concept through manufacturing is required. Experience with machining of metals and ceramics and other materials with a variety of cutting tools including fluted or grinding tools is highly recommended. Knowledge of tool path (coordinated motion) computations and issues is recommended.


Requirements

Minimum 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Masters degree preferred. Minimum 5 years experience in CNC product design or closely related experience in machine, automation or robotics design, using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).Classification:Full-TimeCompensation:
