This position is responsible to develop and conduct application training programs for CA employees worldwide. Assist the department manager with mentoring, process development, and advanced instructional design tasks. Successful candidate will be conducting needs assessments for web usability and building coursework for customers in cooperation with Project Management for the course in accordance with the project plan for instructor led, web instructor led, computer based and web deployable formats. The Sr. Instructional Designer will be responsible for presenting deliverables for the customer and developing storyboards based on usable screen design, as well as, ensuring strong understanding in the application with which they work and attend training and seek mentoring accordingly. This position will also develop training materials; including manuals, quick reference guides, web based tutorials, and exercises, and will select instructional methods for delivering training. The Sr. Instructional Designer will deliver business applications training via web-based training, classroom presentations, and virtual classes and assist manager with developing departmental processes, developing standards, and mentoring employees.Successful candidates will have typically 5 or more years experience as a consultant or practitioner in instructional design and related technologies. 3 or more years designing technical training materials and an understanding and applying instructional design methodologies to customer needs. Incumbent will have an understanding of the application of technology as it relates to instructional design and an understanding of project management as it relates to instructional design. Successful candidate must have wide ranging experience in the application of ID technology in customer environments Candidates must also have strong analytical, problem solving, project management, technical writing, presentation, communication and instructional design skills and technical awareness of CA software products and strategic initiatives. Incumbent will be responsible for providing clear, timely, and effective communication in all manners of work to all levels within the company and for demonstrating professionalism and maturity in work ethic and performance. Candidates must be able to seek and willingly share leading-edge ideas and best practices for group and understand and act with appropriate level of urgency as situations demand, as well as balance priorities to accomplish critical goals. Incumbent will demonstrate thoroughness in all aspect of work performed with appropriate levels of independence and discretion, and complete assigned project tasks on time and in quality fashion. Candidate must stay abreast of leading edge technology within the industry. One or more of the following preferred; MCT, MOUS, Instructional Designer certifications; technical writing background and knowledge of Adult Learning Theories. Business travel of approximately 25 percent yearly is expected for this position. Master's Degree in Instructional Design or a related field is preferred.It's an exciting time at CA.
