AQS, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Developer
Are you an accomplished Senior Developer with expertise in application development and database development/administration? Do you want to put your career on the path to success with a rapidly growing firm? If so, you must join AQS’s talented technology team as a Senior Developer in Hartland, WI. We are looking for your expertise to provide and be responsible for the design and development of computer programs to automate client business. You would maintain new and existing Web-based applications for the commercial insurance industry. Technologies utilized are VB6, XML, and traditional ASP. New development will transition to service based .NET applications. Most or all existing VB6 components will be candidates for refactoring via VB.NET.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assist technical services team with troubleshooting errors on client systems.Modify internal applications and utilities including databases and insurance utilities.Document adjustments made to client and internal software applications.Research potential customization of client systems and quotes requiring programming time.Assist in writing and maintaining functional and technical specifications.Enhance existing software to meet client specifications into screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, and printer outputs.Compile code and corrects errors detected in compile process.Create test transactions and runs tests to identify errors and confirm that programming meets specifications.Analyze code to determine cause of errors and revises programs as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
Experienced in development, testing, implementation phases of the software development lifecycle.Previous programming experience in VB6, traditional ASP, and XML.A general understanding of .NET technology.Able to comprehend a moderate level of TSQL programming.Demonstrate proficiency in using event driven programming and object oriented methodology.Proven track record working with project and design methodologies.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team, as well as independently.Assume responsibility and take ownership of work assigned.Self-organizing, able to define tasks, establish priorities, and implement according to plan.Ability to work effectively under pressure while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Education and/or Experience: Computer related Bachelor’s Degree preferred or Associate’s Degree with a minimum of three years of related computer experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
