Senior DBA

The Bartech Group is currently seeking a technical professional to fill the role of Senior DBA for one of their local clients in the Lehigh Valley, PA area.

This position will monitor/enhance database system performance to ensure a high level of system functionality and reliability. The DBA will lead and manage the successful design, development and implementation of database, architecture, data integration and other IT implementation projects.

Additional duties include:
* Applications Development Support - Supports the systems development process by providing logical database design services, managing the transformation of the logical design to the physical database, and participating in major application design reviews.
* Database Development – Utilize Database Procedural Languages (Oracle PL/SQL, MS T-SQL) to develop Stored Procedures, Packages, Functions and Triggers.
* Production Support - Oversee the migration of database components between the test and production environments.
* Database System Support - Monitor database system performance in both Development and Production environments.
* Environment Development - Defining, implementing, and enhancing an application development and operating environment.
* Database Environment - Extensive Stored Procedure, Package and Trigger experience is required. Requires Logical and Physical Data Model and Design experience. Familiarity with the Erwin or ER/Studio data-modeling tool is a plus. Experience with Client/Server or Internet development environment comprising of Visual Basic, Java and Oracle 9I is optimal.
* Ability to administer Oracle and SQL Server.
DB2, Oracle Financials, Vignette 7 and MySQL experience a plus.
* Operating System Environment - Knowledge of Sun Solaris and Microsoft Windows 2000 Server.
* Database Backup/Recovery - Develop, implement and maintain stringent backup/recovery processes for the development and production database environments.
* Project Management/Leadership.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience.

Formal training in Oracle Database Management Systems and Microsoft SQL Server Database Management Systems.

Minimum of 5 years Database Management System experience in the Client/Server and Internet/Intranet paradigm.

Expertise with the administration, management, support and development utilizing Oracle Database Management System technology.

Experience with Internet/Intranet Technologies (e.g. FrontPage 98/2000, HTML, CGI, Java is a plus.)

Experience with IBM Websphere, WebSphere Commerce and Websphere Software Application Developer for Java (WSAD) is a plus.

Experience with Logical and Physical Data Modeling and Design is required.

Must be a good people person and able to work with all levels of management. Must be able to communicate clearly from both a written and oral perspective.
