Category: Information Technology/Enterprise ArchitectureOverview: The Security & Policy Architect is responsible for supporting overall security and policy governance and direction within IT. In support of the VP, Security & Policy Architecture, the Architect participates in overall Enterprise Architecture development from a security and data protection standpoint and is a key contributor in defining Radian’s IT security strategy, architecture, operations, and administration.Responsibilities: Strategy / solutions: Supports the VP, Security & Policy Architecture in development of IT security strategies and focused architecture solutions.Policy services: Support and/or leads the development and issuance of security and governance policies and standards and identification of supporting procedures. Supports maintenance of governance process and associated approval and issuance flow for artifacts of this type.Project support: Supports and/or leads technical development, planning, and deployment for enterprise-wide security initiatives including, but not limited to, firewalls, intrusion detection, strong authentication, remote access, Wireless LAN, and others.Leadership and guidance: Provides security leadership and guidance in regards to security best practices for access control, incident response, security awareness, governance, security administration, and other related areas. Participates in Security Architecture Domain team. Provides support to security incident response activities.Audit and compliance: Provides support in response to internal and external audits, including customer security assessments, internal audits and external financial audits (i.e. Deloitte). Supports and/or leads IT security compliance activities.Security products: Perform evaluation and provide guidance on commercial security products and services as applicable to corporate security architecture development and initiatives.Qualifications: Bachelor's DegreeCISSP or GIAC Series Certification5-8 years experienceAbility to maintain a risk-based information security program that addresses the 3 tenets of information security: Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability. Skilled in security architecture and solutioning based on derived or defined requirements. Skilled knowledge of industry best practices and technology trends.Ability to develop plans and execute a complex effort involving the application of technical security solutions and security management best practices.Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.Excellent analytical and technical skills. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills.Practical experience in a technical security area such as security operations, incident management, networking, etc. Exposure to multiple security technologies and implementations.Ability to assist in the translation of business needs into architecture requirements that are cognizant of security and privacy.Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new security technologies.
