SENIOR POWER MANAGEMENT DESIGN ENGINEER

KEY ENGINEERING ROLE WITHIN THE RESEARCH GROUP OF A PROGRESSIVE GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY MANUFACTURING COMPANY LOCATED IN SOUTHWESTERN USA. (relocation required)REPORTING TO THE HEAD OF THE RESEARCH GROUP YOU WILL ASSUME A LEADING ROLE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NEXT GENERATION OF DIGITAL CONTROLLED LOW POWER DC/DC CONVERTERS.KEY TO THE SUCCESS OF THE ROLE WILL BE THE CAPACITY TO CONSISTENTLY USE TECHNOLOGY TO DELIVER VALUE TO THE ORGANIZATION.

RESPONSIBILITIES:• Leading role in the development of the next generation of digital controlled low power DC/DC converters.
• Active involvement in the design and architecture of low power switched mode power supplies (SMPS) that fulfill customer requirements for the handheld portable battery operated market segment
• Lead design responsibility to guarantee success from Design Concept to Production.
• Hands-on design role coupled with producing all the deliverables to achieve high yielding production devices.
REQUIREMENTS
• Advanced Electrical Engineering Academic Background (BSEE/ MSEE/PhD)• 7 to 10+ years experience in high volume DC/DC power supply development• Thorough knowledge of digital power supply topologies and control loop theories with in-depth background in switched mode power supplies (SMPS)• Working experience with digital control methods and technologies, modeling and simulation (Hspice/Pspice, MATLAB, Simulink, Verilog tools, Synthesis, FPGA tools)• Knowledge of silicon implementation and good fundamentals of analog/mixed signal IC design coupled with simulation and verification skills• Design Experience: Digital, PLL, DAC, ADC.
• Front-end CAD tool experience with Cadence, or Mentor
• Good experience with Verilog and Synthesis
• Understanding of backend design flow (DRC, LVS etc.)
• Matlab and Simulink tool experience
• Knowledge of Power Management systems and their implementation
• Must be a self starter with the ability to adapt to different task quickly for finalization and product completion within a small team
