Kelly FedSecure is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer who will be responsible for solid model design work supporting engineering staff on projects under the direction of a Staff Engineer or Project Manager.

*** Hanover MD - Contract to Hire - TS Security Cleared ****Responsibilities may include: preparing engineering drawings, layout and detailed design of mechanical systems using solid modeling techniques, managing complex models using multiple designers, and interfacing with designers / draftsman for the production of fabrication drawings. Performing independent, original designs as directed by Sr. level Engineers. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important. Ability to interface with other design and technical disciplines such as systems engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, drafters, fabrication shop personnel, and hardware vendors are important. Ability to perform 3-D modeling using SolidWorks is required and experience with underwater systems and technical writing skills are a plus!
Minimum Requirements: Associate Degree in related engineering field, or equivalent work experience; undergraduate degree preferred. 10 years experience with Mil Standards and geometric tolerances ANSI 14.5, as well as structural design, SolidWorks software proficient. Ability to independently develop originaldesigns and /or modifications. Experience in all phases of documentation, machine shop and manufacturing processes including composites, injection molding, electronic assembly, and printed circuit board design. Computer skills using Microsoft Office products required. Technical writing skills are helpful.Proficiency using CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks required.
Other Pre-requisites: Candidate will have to perform in an ISO-9000 rated company in a rapidly changing and demanding atmosphere. U.S. Citizenship and have current DOD security clearances.
