Project Engineer-Foam

ENTER JOB TITLE

Select Comfort, Minnesota-based Creator of the Sleep Number® Bed and the nation's #1 ranked bedding retailer for each of the past 6 years running (Furniture Today, 2000-2005), is seeking a Project Engineer-Foam for our corporate headquarter offices in Plymouth.

Responsibilities:

The Project Engineer will provide technical expertise for technology innovation, new product development, and value engineering product improvements in fibers, flexible polymers, textiles and foams.

Successful candidate will work with internal team members and external suppliers to formulate product strategy, develop new products, and be a key player in setting future department direction. Department direction will include creating engineering standards and manufacturing processes, making appropriate product material selections, and formulating design verification methods.

Additional responsibilities will include formulating and managing project budget and timing work plans to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:

BS degree in Engineering

Minimum of 2 to 5 years experience in materials and product design engineering, specializing in foam development and flexible polymers

Proven technical expertise and project management skills

Familiarity with assembly and processing of foam/cushioning materials

Innovative and creative thinker

Ability and desire to multi-task

Phase Gate release process experience preferred

Knowledgeable in engineering development tools (DFMEA/GD&T/DVP&R) preferred

Minimal travel required
