Programmer Analyst - eCommerce Application Team (06019B)

POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

This position will work on the eCommerce Development Team to perform analysis, design, programming, testing and maintenance tasks to meet customer requests specific to C.H. Robinson’s Online and Trucks web applications. The position demands excellent problem solving skills and interaction with internal customers and other IT teams.

Responsibilities will include:
•Designing and developing solutions required for complex application features
•Providing high-level technical options that may span multiple systems
•Identifying high-level system impacts
•Translating high-level requirements into detailed designs
•Providing technical estimates
•Performing unit testing and some functional testing

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:
The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 5 - 7 years programming experience in Information Technology with 3 plus years of in-depth experience in developing web applications utilizing .NET technology and MS SQL Server. The candidate should be a well-rounded developer who can also perform analysis tasks and testing. The individual must be a self-starter with excellent communication and problem solving skills as well as work well in a team.

Experience with Microsoft Development platform and the following technologies is required - .NET framework technology, VB.NET, ASP.NET with web services development, ADO.NET, COM+, MS SQL Server 2000 and XML. Must also have experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design techniques and development practice.

Experience with transportation or logistics information systems is preferred.

Education Required:
Undergraduate degree, or equivalent business experience, in Computer Science/Software Engineering or related technical field.
