Principal Ethernet Engineer - Project Design Leader

The successful candidate would join the AGP Ethernet Group as project design leader. The candidate will be expected to immediately contribute to the design and implementation of the firmware on our Low-Cost Ethernet development efforts, and to work to deploy reusable assets within the Company. The candidate is expected to perform a technical leadership and project coordination role within the team including project planning and tracking, staff assignments and project cost estimation. Requires direct dealing across organizational boundaries and partnering with other development teams within Schneider Electric to achieve project goals.Mandatory Requirements:
BSCS or technical discipline with a minimum of ten (10) years of related engineering experience. VxWorks, RTXC, ThreadX or other embedded RTOS; Unix or Linux and Microsoft Windows. C/C++, ARM and/or Motorola PPC assembly languages. HW and FW design; project planning and costing; demonstrated leadership of small cross-functional projects.
Experience in using or developing layer two and layer three networking protocols (such as PPP, NTP, BOOTP and DHCP). Ability to travel internationally approx. 1 week/qtr. Experience with a well defined software development process utilizing state of the art design, debug and defect tracking tools.
Desirable:Working knowledge SNMP, use of Rational Unified Process, ClearCase, ReqPro, ClearQuest; Upper layer industrial protocol experience (Modbus, CAN, CANOpen, Profinet, DeviceNet).
