Principal Designer, Pipeline

Expat position to lead pipeline design activities in the Trinidad office, initially in Houston office for 6-8 weeks.
Prepare layouts and conceptual designs for difficult and complex pipeline facility and route problems.
Prepare complex design drawings including typical details, alignment sheets, and elevation profiles.
Interface with other design disciplines
Proficient in 2D CAD capabilities
Proficient in other design programs
Work independently with little or no supervision
Check complex design drawings
Perform squad check of vendor equipment drawings and drawings from other disciplines
Review fabricator drawings
Assist the Design Supervisor, as required
Provide guidance and mentorship to lower-classification designers
Communicate, both verbally and in written form in a professional manner
Actively participate in Fluor's Pipeline Knowledge Community and other available resources
Evaluate Performance Appraisal input and administer counseling
Travel, as required, to ensure the successful execution of project and/or department goals
Participate in department training programs/seminars and on-line training

REQUIREMENTS
Two-year technical degree preferred
15 years of experience typicalPipeline Designer w/Piping capabilities. Mapping, Offshore/Onshore Alignments and supporting detail drawings. Experience w/Coordinate systems, Soundings, Plan and Profiles, Piping Tie-ins, Expansion Spools, Risers. Must be proficient in Autocad, Autocad Map, Excel, Blue Sky AlignDB. Desirable, but not necessary experience: Databases, Survey, PODS. Programming Software: Land Development, AccessDimensions:
