Power Supply Sr. Design Engineer

C&D Technologies, Inc. is a publicly held, global, high-tech manufacturer that produces and markets systems for the power conversion and storage of electrical power, including industrial batteries and electronics. We currently have an opening in our Power Electronics Division for a Sr. Design Engineer based in Mansfield, MA.

Description of position:

Design and Develop High-Frequency Switch-Mode DC/DC Power Supplies.

•Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in all facets of high frequency high-density switching power supply design including circuit topologies, control theories, loop compensation, magnetics design, EMI/RFI, supervisory functions, and PCB layout.
•Ability to design new families of DC/DC converters based on product specification requirements.
•Familiarity with modern electronic components and their applications.
•Ability to resolve / overcome technical hurdles with innovative circuitry and/or methods.
•Knowledge with simulation tools such as PSPICE, Simplis, etc. and experience in using the tools for circuit designs.
•Generate relevant documentation to support design, manufacturing, and marketing of products.
•Experiences in new product development activities, ability to work, thrive in a concurring engineering environment and bring products to final production.
•Ability to lead and coach junior engineers and technicians in various engineering assignments
•Candidate must be flexible, pro-active, and willing to dedicate necessary efforts when necessary to meet team objectives.

REQUIREMENTS
BSEE with 8 years’ experiences or MSEE/Ph.D. with 5 years’ experiences in designing & developing high-frequency, high-density DC/DC converters.

Working experience of MathCAD, PSpice, SImplis or other design software tools is a plus

Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Outlook and Internet Explorer.
