Power Electronic Mechanical Design Engineer

Provide domain expertise in Power Conversion and Power Electronics to product team. Member of multi-disciplinary engineering development team that includes System Engineering, Power Conversion Design, Mechanical Design, PWA Design, Software Design, and Integration/TestEssential Functions
Design and develop new power electronic equipment to meet documented requirements
Establish subsystem requirements from functional specifications, agency codes, and application needs
Develop new product using simulation, modeling, and statistical design methods
Design to meet performance, reliability, manufacture ability and cost targets
Develop and execute subsystem validation test plans
Develop subsystem models to support concept validation studies and DFSS activities
Participate in FMEA and risk assessment activities
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 1 year of experience with Thermal and mechanical design and analysis tools
Minimum of 1 year of experience in low & medium voltage insulation systems partial discharge theory and testing methods
Minimum of 1 year experience with design, selection, and specification of critical components
Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated experience with instrumentation and measurement equipment
Minimum of 1 year of proven experience in successfully working with Phase-controlled, line commutated (6/12 pulse SCR bridges) PWM inverters using IGBT and IGCT power bridge designDesired: Desired Characteristics
MS in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 1 year of experience in Thermal Management
Minimum of 1 year of experience with mechanical stress management
Minimum of 1 year experience with Pro Engineer
Exposure to design for six sigma, design for reliability, design for manufacture ability
