SALARY: $21.27 to $29.77 per hour

PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION: The purpose of this classification is to review construction plans and related documents to ensure compliance of proposed construction with applicable codes/ordinances.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Interprets, applies, and enforces the provisions of land development codes and other applicable federal, state and local codes, laws, rules, regulations, specifications, standards, policies and procedures. Conducts review of subdivision, industrial/commercial construction plans and related documentation to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Provides assistance to internal/external customers regarding planning/engineering plan submittal requirements, design standards to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and specifications. Coordinates distribution of plans to other divisions/departments for review.

REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree or vocational/technical degree with training emphasis in civil engineering, architectural engineering, planning, construction plans examination, or closely related field; supplemented by two years experience and/or training in civil engineering, civil design, code interpretation, planning, building inspection, and/or a variety of building plan examination specialties; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
LICENSES & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license.
