Oracle/UNIX Application Developer

The JP Morgan Chase Shared Technology and Operations Commercial Loan Technology Group is responsible for the development and support of large complex applications critical to the Commercial Lines of Business among others. The CLASS IT team is currently seeking a technical person to be responsible for the development and production support of the CLASS system and related corporate initiatives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to Mainframe Support, Unix Scripting and Oracle Database Object Manipulation.



The successful associate level Technical candidate will participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution. You will participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations. You will also adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into application design specifications. You will participate in application production support activities and share in on-call rotation responsibilities. Additionally, you will document the detailed application specifications; translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/enhance software application modules.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications

2 plus years of experience in a technical system environment.

2 plus years experience with Oracle database objects.

2 Plus years experience with PL/SQL.

2 Plus years experience with Kornshell Unix scripting

2 Plus years experience with COBOL / JCL.

2 Plus years experience with Powerbuilder.

Experience with Zeke / ZEB a plus.

Good Communication skills- clear and concise writing and oral skills are crucial to the ability to obtain and disseminate information

Flexible - ability to work after hours to implement technical changes to the environment and provide support

Ability to multi-task

Self-directed and creative (going outside the box)

BS / BA preferred but not required

Familiarity with technology project life cycle

Proficient with Microsoft products-Word, Excel, Access
