Oracle DBA

Performs complex database administration assignments essential to the production and development of Oracle database management systems (DBMS) applications. Assignments, which are in direct support of software development and maintenance teams, include database analysis, security support, design, software use, and performance monitoring and tuning. Reviews and ensures integrity via standardized support tools. Ensures that assignments are performed in accordance with database administration guidelines, standards and procedures for applications development, implementation, testing, and migration. Responds to complex customer-reported systems problems. Evaluates and recommends use of software, guidelines, and procedures. Evaluates and develops project plans. Provides DBMS expertise to other groups as requested. Works on extremely complex problems. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures to be used on new assignments and may supervise or provide guidance to other personnel. Regularly interacts with senior or executive management on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in related field and 9+ years related experience. Experience with Oracle 10G is preferred on this position. Must have demonstrated experience supporting a high-availability, large Oracle database.DESIRED SKILLS: Experience administering Oracle databases using the Data Guard product.
