Cygnus Interactive, Beltsville, MD is seeking an experienced, hands-on audio and video production professional to produce audio / shoot and edit original video content for the internet.

Responsibilities and duties:

Provide complete video production support for creative and interactive team.
Operate HD-DV cameras, lighting, and sound recording equipment.
Operate and maintain Premier editing systems on PC computer system.
Mix sound, sound effects and music to professional standards.
Create special effects and modern television graphics in one or more software programs such as After Effects or BorisFX.
Prepare finished segments for compression and distribution (primarily web, at times DVD/Broadcast).
Travel to onsite shooting locations, coordinating activities and resources on the ground while maintaining open communications with teams.
Organize and manage footage library.
Obtain and distribute video, music, and studio equipment needed to complete productions.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements

At least 2 years deadline-oriented editing experience on AVID/Final Cut Pro/Premier editing system.
An awareness of contemporary trends in internet video programming.
Exhibit creativity through editing and production ability while maintaining polished presentation.
Ability to work well in team environments as well as solo assignments.
Macintosh and PC computer literate
A demonstrated understanding of music and sound mixing for TV.
Assignments may require lifting equipment up to 45 lbs. average, up to 90 lbs. maximum.
Work hours may include evenings and weekends.
Must be able to work under tight deadlines.

Ideal candidate will have broad knowledge of video production with a minimum of three years hands-on experience in video work. Preference will be given to organized and detail oriented candidates with demonstrated writing skills and prior success working in unstructured and rapidly evolving creative environment.
