Network & Computer Systems Engineer

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:
Provide support to NAVAIR Training Systems Division Orlando, FL to include training systems integration into a distributed exercise.

TYPICAL DUTIES:
•Design of Systems Architecture
•Design and document secure network architectures comprised of network topologies, network devices, client machines, and servers
•Investigate, recommend, implement, and support application packages
•Recommend procurement and repair of components necessary to maintain the network and information technology systems
•Conduct systems analysis and produce specific charts, graphs, databases, or other documentation that summarize the data collected in a manner that is understood and usable by the decision makers
•Implement a test-bed which emulates training systems architectures which will include audit reduction software, domain servers, information assurance server, Computer Generated Forces (CGFs), Wide Area Network (WAN) emulation, and run-time infrastructures (RTIs)
•Recommend strategies for WAN testing based on test-bed findings such as testing RID file settings and RTI settings
•Develop tools for testing test-bed requirements
•Support integration testing for various simulators
•Provide technical support for training systems joining distributed exercises
•Accomplish additional tasks as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUISITE SKILLS:
•Knowledge of training systems architectures
•Knowledge of Linux administration and security
•Knowledge of Windows administration and security
•Knowledge of Cisco router configuration
•Knowledge of KG-75 and KG-175 Encryptor configurations
•Knowledge of HLA and DIS
•Knowledge of programming
•Experience with integrating hardware and software into a training exercise

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Required Education/Experience: BA/BS with two (2) years experience; AA/AS with three (3) years experience; Industry Certification with two (2) years experience

Desired Experience: Linux Professional Institute Certification Level II (LPIC-2); Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE); Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA); Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification
