Mechanical Design Engineer (Pro/E)

Purpose: OVERVIEW: Aerotek is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for work in Oakdale, MN.

DESCRIPTION:
Engineer will be responsible for design, development, detailing, integration, testing, documentation, and release to production of mechanical subsystems used in medical laser imagers. Candidates must exhibit adaptability, creativity, accuracy, attention to detail, and good organizational skills. This engineer will work as part of a cross-functional team, interfacing with other mechanical subsystem teams, as well as electrical and software engineers, to ensure all interface requirements are met.
Must interface w/other groups such as service, purchasing, mfg, QA, and configuration mgmt. as well as external suppliers. Good communications skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, quickly changing team environment are critical.

MIN. REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
BSME Degree Required
3-10 yrs. exp in electromechanical prod. commercialization.
3-10 yrs. exp using Pro/ENGINEER for prod. development, including Part Modeling, Assembly, Sheetmetal, and Detailing modules (Vers. 2001 min, Wildfire preferred).
3-10 yrs. exp using Pro/INTRALINK.
Exp. designing machined, sheetmetal, cast, and plastic molded parts.
Proficiency w/GD&T per ASME Y 14.5M standards.
Proficiency w/product data mgmt. software (preferably eMatrix).
Exp. with bills of materials (BOMs) and engineering change orders (ECOs).
Proficiency w/Microsoft Office and Project.
Good written and verbal communication skills.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
FDA or ISO practices and compliance.
Hands-on mechanical assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
Exp. w/ANSYS, Mechanica, or equiv. FEA software.
LabVIEW or equiv. data acquisition system.
Proficiency w/Lotus Notes for email and databases.

SUMMARY:
This is a long-term W2 contract (approx 14mo) position. Benefits, holiday pay, vacation are available. No relocation package is offered for this position.
