Mapping Drafter

Mapping Drafter Job - Great opportunity for a Pipeline Mapper with a world class natural gas transmission company in Houston, TX. This is a 6-month contract position, but has the possibility of being long term. Position requires 2+ years of topographical pipeline mapping experience. Candidate will be responsible for the production and coordination of pipeline - alignment sheets, topographical maps, database, drawing and engineering design services deliverables for new construction and as-built pipeline projects. Candidate must posses an in-depth understanding of both maintenance capital and pipeline expansion projects. This includes services pertaining to design, drawing and information deliverables for FERC 7c filings, various permitting applications, bid packages, construction packages and final as-built documents. From a technical standpoint, applicant should also possess knowledge and experience of current survey techniques and data collection, coordinate systems, imagery specifications, software applications utilized in processing of alignments, profile drawings, data referencing, natural gas mapping standards including fabrication and detail design specifications. Pipeline software experience should include AutoCAD and AutoCAD LDD, however, experience with BlueSky, SheetGen, or ArcView would be a PLUS. Experience in the natural gas pipeline industry is a PLUS. Candidate should have excellent communication skills. Client would prefer local candidates or those willing to relocate themselves, however, per diem can be made available for the right candidate.
