Manager, Color Software Systems

If so, then we would like you to consider joining our team.PPG Industries, a $10 billion leading producer of coatings, glass, chemicals, and fiberglass is seeking talented people for a Manager, Color Software Systems position within the Automotive Refinish Marketing Department at the Strongsville, OH facility.Manage PPG’s color retrieval systems (pc software & hardware, dispensing equipment and spectrophotometers) for ease in use by customers and as a market benchmark standard in North America as follows:1. Benchmark Color Retrieval System – Utilizing in-depth knowledge of body shop/painter practices, market and business requirements, and regional trends for color delivery that impact IT platform selection, identify system improvements, functional specifications, test plans and related documentation in support of color systems improvement initiatives; know strengths and weaknesses of competitor offerings.
2. Design Contributor & Liaison - Partner with various departments (Corporate IT, Global Color, Customer & Color Services, Supply Chain) to define and/or influence the scope, objectives, requirements and design of color system initiatives based on business unit directives and the Global Color IT Strategy; Works closely with all Color Marketing Managers to ensure alignment to color strategy; Ensure project milestones and deliverables are completed in a timely manner. Work to agreement with Global Color on any proposed changes for existing color software systems.
3. Data Integrity & Integration - Ensure GRID extract processes and IT platform functionalities are (Tribe, Color Web) coordinated. Deliver and physically distribute OTIF accurate electronic color updates that meet product launch, color updates, and customer expectations; Provide leadership and direction to ensure efficient and accurate data extraction process. Develop repeatable process rigor around CD creation process.
4. Field & Help Desk Team Management – ensure qualified teams to answer/resolve color software and hardware questions & issues by internal and external customers in a timely response time; Lead for customer service and support model continuous improvement that meets or exceeds the needs of the business and customers. Manage teams to allocated budgets.
5. Training & Education – Create training materials as necessary and participate in leading train-the-trainer sessions for internal and external customers on the use and logic of PPG color retrieval systems.
REQUIREMENTS
This position requires:
A bachelor degree in IT/Business or equivalent experience with strong IT background in relational databases and general understanding of architectures, analytical and design techniques, database technologies and programming languages preferred
5+ years of business systems and business process analysis to include IT systems solutions and strong understanding of the automotive paint industry.
