Java / J2EE Developer

SunGard HTE Inc., is a leader in government information technologies, providing a broad range of innovative software solutions to nearly 2,200 government offices, agencies and utility companies throughout North America. The company's products address the wireless computing requirements of a rapidly changing public sector market and support the end-to-end delivery of e-government access to citizens. We are currently seeking a Java Developer in our Fort Lauderdale Location.
The individual is responsible for writing, debugging, supporting and maintaining software applications and/or web sites. Maintains a high level of communication with team to ensure on-time completion of projects. Performs system testing and documentation of software. Creates, maintains and updates code files. Has direct contact with customers for software support. Is involved in solving technical problems including providing off-hour support.
REQUIREMENTS
* Candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years experience in Java development using J2EE and Struts.
* Strong written and verbal communications skills; team-oriented
* Government vertical market experience preferred
* Experience with J2EE 1.4, Struts 1.1, Java Servlets, JSP, JavaScript, EJB 2 or 3, Oracle 9i /10 , PL/SQL, HTML, OOD/OOA and XML/XSL
* Experience with JDeveloper 9 or 10 would be preferred
* The ideal candidate will be an expert in J2SE and J2EE and have experience in common Java frameworks.
* Candidate will demonstrate exceptional analytical and reasoning skills.
* Candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills.
* Candidate will demonstrate experience in areas of object-oriented analysis; design and development of web-based applications is essential.
* Candidate will ideally be familiar with Microsoft C++/C# development; Visual Studio. C++ COM experience is a plus.
