Healthcare Management Systems, Inc. is searching for qualified candidates to fill our
Interface Developer open position.
The Interface Developer will implement cost-effective programming solutions that meets user integration needs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Implement HMS interface applications to successfully integrate third-party vendor applications with HMS.
* Will work closely with other Information Systems analysts and the Implementation Department to support systems integration and optimization of new and existing clients.
* Will utilize interface software, hardware tools and generalized PC applications that support system integration.
* Research assignments and document all changes and enhancements and comply with the programming standards and other policies and procedures outlined in the Programming Handbook.
* Keep track of all time spent on calls, PIFs and other activities (meetings, PTO) and update the call system, PIF system and the time system with this information on a daily basis.
* Notify Programming Manager or Team Leader of problems or questions immediately that may prevent or delay work and inform them of changes needed in estimated hours or estimated completion dates for assigned tasks.
* Attend and participate in weekly team meetings.
* Provide training in areas of expertise and support for training documents necessary to assist clients as required.
* Work with other HMS departments and with clients to resolve open calls.
* Attend and participate in HMS job related classes.
* Attend vendor offered conferences and workshops as agreed upon with supervisor.
* Perform self-study of HMS applications on-line and documentation.

REQUIREMENTS
* 2-4 years of experience in networks, client server architecture, TCP/IP, RS232 communications, HL7 formats, RPG, and AS400.
* Knowledge of hospital lab analyzer functionality.
* Understanding of LAN and data communications.
* 2-years customer service experience.
* Ability to work independently with little direction or follow-up.
* Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in-group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
* Excellent written, proof reading and verbal communication skills.
* Must be detail-oriented, organized and have the ability to multi-task.
* Ability to demonstrate supportive relationships with peers, customers, partners, corporate executives, and third party vendors.
* Must be flexible with a can-do attitude and have the ability to remain professional under high-pressure situations.
* Ability to retain and protect confidential material.
* Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
* Negative result on pre-employment drug screening.
* Meet HMS Company hiring criteria for Criminal and MVR background screening.
* Good interpersonal skills that include the ability to effectively communicate in both writing and verbally.
* Excellent written, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
* Must be detail oriented, organized, and have the ability to multi-task.
