The Director of Instructional Design is responsible for the design of learning programs and leadership, management and development of the Instructional Design team (senior and junior designers). Our client's learning programs are delivered both to internal business partners and external clients and must be leading edge and of commercial quality. The Director works closely with senior management, Project Management, Program Directors and other resources to ensure that all projects are effectively scoped, resourced, executed, and evaluated. The Director is responsible for building relationships with business partners and vendors to enhance this process.

Key Job Responsibilities
The Instructional Design Director’s responsibilities are as follows:

-Develop and implement creative and innovative eLearning (commercial quality) and classroom program strategy for both internal business partners and external clients

-Work with Technology Planning and Operations to select eLearning vendors

-Coach and develop IDs how to improve their writing, design, and development skills through one-on-one coaching sessions – review and critique learning program (eLearning and classroom)

-ID and Editorial resource management

-Contractor resource management

The primary goals of the Instructional Design function are:

-Develop frontline associate capability resulting in exceptional experiences for customers

-Develop client capability resulting in experiences using services

-Design and develop new hire and foundation skills training programs

-Create comprehensive training solutions for implementation of business initiatives

-Design evaluation instruments that measure learning and program effectiveness

-Working Relationships/Contacts
Communication with various levels of management, through presentation or discussion of issues and participate in cross-functional teams.
Knowledge/Skills:
-Broad knowledge of eLearning and learning technologies.
-Demonstrated ability to actively manage/participate in one or more projects
-Ability to demonstrate creativity and innovation while solving problems quickly and efficiently
-Ability to bring people together with varied talents and perspectives to generate creative solutions
-Strong judgment and problem solving skills
-Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients, across levels of management and staff
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Requirements:
-Detail oriented.
-Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
-Demonstrated track record of developing innovative learning programs
-Presentation skills.
-College degree, masters preferred
-Some travel required
