Information Systems Security Analyst

Classification: Consulting Compensation: $35.00 to $41.00 per hour Robert Half Technology is currently seeking an IS Security Administrator. The Security Administrator's role is to ensure operation of our clients computer systems, servers, and network connections. This includes checking server and firewall logs, scrutinizing network traffic, establishing and updating virus scans, and troubleshooting. This person will also analyze and resolve security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and conduct user activity audits where required. They will be responsible for the implementation and daily monitoring of information security controls. They will also work with the Information Systems staff and the Information Security Analyst to assess system security.Duties and responsibilities include: Assists Information Systems management and Information Security Analyst in the development of security standards and strategies. Incorporates information security and business resumption processes into policies/procedures. Works with our Information Security Analyst, and Information Systems management to implement appropriate Information security controls.
Acts as team member in the development, maintenance and testing of the Business Resumption plan (as it relates to Information Systems Security). Must be able to identify and prioritize issues and provide strong customer service. Ensure high-level integration of IS Systems development with security policies and information protection strategies. Assists in designing and developing security and control measures to address identified risks. Provides on-going consulting in addressing security issues and in implementing security policies, procedures and measures. Effectively plans and manages assigned activities to ensure that objectives and schedules are met. Conducts security reviews, evaluations, risk assessments, and develops recommendations for improvements as appropriate. Develops and presents ongoing security awareness and training information to employees, management, and information custodians to ensure that security responsibilities are understood. Designs and evaluates security and controls for new technologies to address such areas as infrastructure, security administration, user identification and authentication, access to data, monitoring and reporting.
Coordinates information protection activities and projects with other groups within the company, business partners, vendors of information protection services, and other organizations to ensure effective definition, development, and implementation of appropriate information protection measures. Deploy, manage and maintain all security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptography systems, and anti-virus software. Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee enforcement of policies, procedures and associated plans for system security administration and user system access based on industry-standard best practices. Manage connection security for the company's local area networks, web site, intranet, and e-mail communications.
Design, perform, and/or oversee penetration testing of all systems in order to identify system vulnerabilities. Monitor server logs, firewall logs, intrusion detection logs, and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity. Recommend, schedule (where appropriate), and apply fixes, security patches, disaster recovery procedures, and any other measures required in the event of a security breach.
