IT Project Specialist
Security Bank of Kansas City is looking for a qualified IT Project Specialist
Assists and supports the IT Project Manager in coordinating, managing, and administrating IT-related projects for all banks in the Valley View Bancshares group. Includes working closely with Information Technology Department technicians, with bank staff, and with vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
PRIMARY WORK PERFORMED:
•Assists and supports the IT Project Manager in applying professional quality project management expertise to managing multiple concurrent information technology-related projects.
•Assists and supports in the entire project life cycle, including plan development, task definition, coordinating and meeting with stakeholders and participants, status reporting, and project documentation.
•Implements best practices for planning and coordinating projects.
•Assists and supports the IT Project Manager in developing and monitoring project budgets.
•Uses and assists in administering the Information Technology Department’s project management system.
•Participates in developing, documenting, and updating procedures for managing, tracking, and reporting on the bank’s IT related projects.
•Proactively and assertively addresses issues as they arise.
•Coordinates with staff at various levels within the Valley View Bancshares group of banks and with vendors and consultants, as directed.
•Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

REQUIREMENTS
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
•Associate’s degree in an information technology-related field and/or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
•Minimum of one year of experience of direct IT project management, preferably involving multiple concurrent projects.
•Minimum of one year of hands-on experience using Microsoft Project; experience with Microsoft Project Server a plus.
•Practical understanding of project management concepts, terminology, practices, procedures; and, computer and network technologies, services, concepts, and terminology.
•Good computer usage skills, including fluency in using Microsoft Windows 2000/XP, Excel, Word, and Access.
•Awareness of computer-related security issues as they affect project planning and implementation.
•Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals, including negotiation skills.
•Ability to analyze and integrate information from relevant sources.
•Remains composed under stress and takes personal responsibility for delivering on personal and organizational commitments.
•Solid problem solving skills and ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities in a focused manner.
•Ability to travel locally.
•In addition to possessing the skills necessary to perform the job, the employee must be willing and able to demonstrate these skills by coming to work on a daily basis.
•Preferences will be given to candidates having: banking industry experience; relevant technology certifications.
