This Programmer / Analyst position will be in the Enterprise Data Warehouse IT organization. This individual will be responsible for technical design, development, testing and implementation for a large, enterprise-wide data warehouse. The application must have extremely high availability and excellent performance while serving thousands of users. This application also integrates to other HP applications so this individual will also be responsible for integrating applications that ensure high availability and performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include:
Working with the Business Analysts to understand business requirements and solution definitions.
Participating in data architecture and database design meetings and feasibility assessments.
Implement Extract Transform and Load (ETL) metadata.
Data Validation.
Providing input into integration methodologies and development and coding standards.
Technical design and development of application solutions that meet customer requirements.
Ensuring quality and reliability of deliverables.
Ensuring complete hand-off to support teams.
Troubleshooting issues and problems.
Defining the system architecture with other technical development team members.
Defining technologies and development tools to be used on projects.
Responsible for technical requirements definition/documentation and detailed design specifications.
REQUIREMENTS
Development experience in SQL SERVER 2000 and/or ORACLE 9.0+ in Windows and Unix platforms.
Advanced SQL experience required.
OLAP, EXCEL, ASP and ASP.NET, and other BI tools
Report development experience with key tools such as Business Objects, BRIO, Crystal
Experience with requirement definition/gathering, solution design and definition, testing, data reconciliation/trouble shooting
Good people skills, focus on customer satisfaction
Effective time/work management skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics). M.S. Preferred
