IT - Portal Administrator / Webmaster

Luxottica Retail, based in Mason Ohio, is the home of many well known names, including LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, Sears Optical, Target Optical, BJ's Optical, EyeMed Vision Care, Sunglass Hut, Watch Station and Watch World._________We are looking for an experienced Portal Administrator / Webmaster to join our team.This would be a full-time position in our Mason Ohio office.GENERAL FUNCTION
The Portal Administrator / Webmaster oversees technical management of Luxottica Retail's Enterprise portal and related intranet sites.
This includes integration of approved content, file management and site maintenance, data base management and coordination of the retrieval of pertinent information from the site to end-users, and archiving and record management.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESApplication Administration
Installs, configures and maintains Internet and Web servers to ensure proper transmission of documents over current Internet protocols. Establishes and maintains directory trees, permitting content management delivery to the Web site.
May need to evaluate competing hardware and software to make determination of needs within the enterprise.
Obtains and manages public/private key certificates for secure HTTP transactions.
Uploads pages onto the site, and integrates multimedia assets and database applications.
Integrates new technologies (add-ins and plug-ins) into the Web environment through change management.Mediates between content authors and system administrator, ensuring adherence to applicable Web language coding standards and currency of Web links. Optimizes Web architecture for navigability by taking editorial ownership of the content, quality and style of the site.
Effectively performs installation, configuration and tuning of web/portal server environments, preferably experienced with Websphere Portal and/or Websphere Content Manager.Standards and Methodologies
Help to establish departmental standards and guidelines for systems development and operational support around web-based technologies.
Implements security policies.
Specifies display standards for enterprise-wide (intranet) Web documents, ensures that all submitted documents meet those standards, and converts all other submitted materials to Web documents. Determines which standards will provide for uniformity across various generations of browsers on a variety of computing platforms.Project Involvement
Development of full requirements specifications with moderate direction/supervision
Comprehensive understanding of business area issues & implications for the areas impacted by assigned projects.
Coordinates scripting and programming with other IT and web authors.
Integrates new technologies (add-ins and plug-ins) into the Web environment.
Provides first level help desk support on Web issues.
Trains personnel in construction of Web pages and proper uploading of pages; file transfer and use of Web applications; image acquisition using optical scanners and imaging tools.FLEXIBLE BENEFITS INCLUDE:

REQUIREMENTS
The position of Portal Administrator will require a wide variety of technical, interpersonal, creative and leadership skills:This individual must have the requisite technical skills in web-based programming languages, Internet security and networking concepts in order to develop and maintain Luxottica Retail's enterprise portal and related web sites.
This individual must also be able to work and interface productively with internal and external Web Team members.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Software: HTML, XML a plus, JavaScript, Java, SQL, Websphere Portal, Websphere Content Manager
Proficient in the use of a wide range of graphic design, HTML, office management and database applications a plus.
Proficient in website design and content development.
Experienced with implementing CGI, Perl, Java Script and Java.
Familiar with networking and web-based security concepts such as firewall products and TCP/IP addressing.
Strong command of PC tools, operating systems and productivity packages.EXPERIENCE
3-5 years experience in Web portal administration, webmaster role and/or web development including analysis, design, and programming.
Background working in retail business is helpful.
Supervisory experience required.EDUCATION
Bachelors Degree in Business or Computer Science, or 2 Year Technical Degree technical degree with relevant experience
Masters preferred
