IT Director of Infrastructure Operations

Classification: Contract to Full Time Compensation: $40 to $45 per hour Robert Half Technology, the world's leader in technology staffing, is currently seeking a contract to hire IT Director of Infrastructure Operations for a manufacturing firm based in Irving, TX.
In this role, the candidate will lead and ensure effective management of the IT infrastructure environment including computer operations and telecommunications. Specifically, the IT Director of Infrastructure Operations will act as the primary IT lead for the operation of information systems infrastructure such as global WAN/LAN/WLAN networking, telecommunications and server LAN and messaging. The position of IT Director of Infrastructure Operations reports to the IT Vice President, Global Shared Technical Services. Internally, the candidate interacts with the Information Technology management team, business system users and corporate IT staff regarding the use of information technology infrastructure to support and enhance our client's business processes. Externally, the candidate interacts with IT providers at both the managerial and technical levels.The position's greatest challenge is to manage the support and operation of cost effective highly available information technology infrastructure.On a day to day basis, the candidate will be responsible for the support and delivery of highly available global information technology infrastructure services including but not limited to WAN, LAN, and WLAN, internet protocol telephony, telecommunications, LAN servers and security including firewalls; Ensure system reliability, security control, protection of IT assets, and quality of IT personnel performance; Develop and maintain effective IT plans and budgets supporting the business goals; Develop and maintain effective procedures to collect problem reports, enhancement requests, and strategic objectives for IT and Business process plans. Collect and communicate priorities for resolving issues presented; Communicate regularly, effectively, and as appropriate to executives and management, peers, operations personnel, and IT reports. Prepare and present, as required, at Quarterly Review Meetings and Strategic Planning Meetings; Assist in the documenting /maintaining the Long Term IT Infrastructure Strategy and annual IT plans and budgets with a focus on improving Revenue/IT Employee and IT Costs. Also, ensure that IT projects are completed on schedule and within budget.; Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and project management; Ensure adherence to IT Standards; Establish and nurture an effective human resource environment; Develop solid relationships with executives and managers, peers, operations personnel, and IT direct reports; Recruit quality IT resources; Ensure that adequate training and development programs are implemented in order to improve IT effectiveness; Proactively manage and interact with customers to monitor service level and to identify ways to improve; Drive the technology selection process; Ensure project and process quality; Support the continuous improvement process; Ensure adherence to company policies, standards, and proceduresAll applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be authorized to work in the United States.
